This abstract landscape painting was inspired by a walk in the Gorges du Verdon in March, from the panorama of Point Sublime. At that moment, as I observed and immersed myself in the place, hands appeared as if they had spread the cliffs apart so that a giant could come to us. Then this sensation made sense when I looked into the origin of the name of this gateway to the Verdon: The Samson Corridor. Legend has it that its name comes from the character Samson from the Hebrew Bible, whose strength is similar to that of Hercules, and that he split the mountain in two in order to find his beloved, Delilah, who lived in Rougon. He then became the guardian of the Gorges.
